Ken Durand Sr, Chair of the Sherwood Park Manor Legacy of Care Redevelopment Fundraising Committee, addressed a Joint Meeting of Rotary Brockville on March 14, 2025.  Ken provided an extensive overview of the progress to date in rebuilding Sherwood Park Manor through new construction and renovation of the existing facility.  The $50 Million project is well on its way with a completion date projected for February 2026.  Ken reported that the project budget includes $48 million for construction and $2 million in furniture, fixtures, and equipment.  The new 128 bed Sherwood Park Manor will be state-of-the-art with enabling spaces to promote comfort and safety for residents and new technologies to promote operational and environmental efficiencies.

Ken thanked Rotary Brockville for its $40,000 commitment to the Legacy of Care campaign.  To date, the campaign has raised over $3 million of a $5 million fundraising goal.  The campaign leadership group feels confident that the goal will be reached.  In the photo above, Rotarian Tom Harrington (right) expressed the thanks of the two Clubs to Ken (left) for his informative presentation.  Ken was presented with a library book that will be donated in his name to the St. John Bosco Elementary School library.
