Lobsterfest is one of Rotary Brockville’s longest continually-running fundraisers. It was Originally started in 1988 in support of Rotary International’s polio eradication project. That project named Polio Plus pledged to raise US$120 million to eradicate polio world wide, polio is currently 99.99% eradicated and on the verge of being declared the second human disease to be completely eradicated. Local Rotarians answered the call to financially support this major Rotary International commitment through a unique local fundraiser; and consequently, Lobsterfest was born.
Working in partnership with the Thousand Islands Secondary School students and staff ever since, Rotary Brockville continues the highly successful annual Lobsterfest fundraiser more than two decades later. The funds raised through Lobsterfest support many organizations and community-improvement projects.
