Rotary Peace Pole in Sarnia
In 2025, Rotary Brockville will be installing a Peace Pole in Reynolds Park on the shore of the St. Lawrence River.

Planting a Peace Pole is a way of bringing communities together to inspire, awaken and uplift the human consciousness.

It is an inspiring project for any community to undertake. These Peace Poles are now recognized as the most prominent international symbol and monument to peace.

Peace Poles remind us to think, to speak and to act in the spirit of peace and harmony.

They stand as a silent visual reminder for peace to prevail on earth. Our Peace Pole will have four languages that represent the land upon which the pole has been planted.

English – “May Peace Prevail on Earth”
French – “Que La Paix Regne Sur Terre”
Mohawk – “Shen:nen Kenhak Tsi Yohontsyaike”
Algonquin/Ojibwe – “Mah Noh Tah Bison Tam Got- emah Ahkeeg Kognik”

Peace Poles are intended to inspire unity among people of all cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds.

The first Peace Poles were planted in Ishikawa, Japan after the bombing of Hiroshima in World War II. The message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” has resonated on every continent and every major city in the world.

It is believed that over 200,000 peace poles have been planted over the years. Rotary Brockville is proud to be planting our pole in Reynolds Park. It will be accessible to all as they enjoy the beautiful park and waterfront along the St. Lawrence River, in downtown Brockville. If there is to be peace in the world, there must be peace between nations.
If there is to be peace between nations, there must be peace between cities.
If there is to be peace between cities, there must be peace between neighbours.
If there is to be peace between neighbours, there must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home, there must be peace in the heart.
